Image Performance Of Canon 80d

The first thing we noticed about the Canon 80D is that it can be used in a wide range of situations. When we talk about wide range, we’re speaking about focus points and not just the type of photography. While shooting a picture of a bridge at f/16 and at an ISO of 200 with a basic lens, it was surprising to see that the picture of the bridge we took did create a Bokeh from the point light sources in the frame, usually, this is effect is achieved at an f-stop of 2 and below. Canon 80d is preferable for professional photography.

The dynamic range (DR) of the Canon 80D has been scaled up for better performance and the camera does a fantastic job at capturing stills. Photographers who love to track moving objects will be thrilled with the fact that they can now select the AI Servo in live mode; this was not the case in the previous EOS camera. Focus has also improved. On the Canon 80D, we found that the newly developed autofocus module that can be found with the viewfinder is a huge upgrade and makes focusing much easier. Auto Focus points have increased to 47 from the 19 that was available on the Canon 70D. The Canon 80D comes with two separate sensors, one is a viewfinder-based AF system for stills and the other is a specially designed on-sensor AF system for live view and video.

Speaking of video, it seems like the Canon care catering to videographers with the 80D. They’ve scaled the features to offer better and sharper video quality. Although it cannot film in 4K, the Canon 80D does offer 1080/60p capture and continuous autofocus during video, enhancing the video quality and offering much better performance than its predecessor.

Clarity has improved on the Canon 80D. Picture sharpness seems better than the 70D. That being said, sharpness still depends on skills, light and the lens you use. On the 80D, Canon has taken a step backwards and gone to the trusted DIGIC 6 image processor and not DIGIC 7 image processor on the 70D. Canon has also bumped up image quality on the 80D by introducing a better range of tones.
